A Bellevue startup is booming as people seek entertainment options during the coronavirus lockdown.
Likewise, a startup that recommends movies, TV shows, podcasts, books and more, says the number of recommendations and saves on its free app has skyrocketed more than 400%, while the number of new users is doubling daily without any marketing efforts.
According to the New York Times, at least 311 million Americans – about 90% of the country – have been told to stay 凯发在线app下载home to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, which has infected 356,653 Americans and killed 10,516 as of April 6. Washington state reports 7,984 cases with 338 deaths.
The company, which is funded by Bill Gates’ Gates Ventures, also recently began compiling lists of content on topics such as sports entertainment, cooking, 凯发在线app下载home workouts and education. List viewings have increased 500%, with viewing of TV streaming related lists up almost 1,000%.
The company’s “Indoor Survival Guides” include items such as must-watch true crime documentaries, binge-worthy series on Netflix, 31 reality shows to watch and 25 hidden gems on Amazon Prime Video.
Likewise, which launched in 2018, employs 30.
